About Ello

Illuminate every life.

Ello builds Life Intelligence: technology that understands people through ongoing, natural conversation, so the organizations and families who care for them can see how they really are.

Our mission.

To give people across generations clarity and foresight, by turning the conversations of a life into understanding that helps them live it well.

Why voice.

The people who most need to be understood are often the least reachable by screens: older adults, patients at home, people living alone, witnesses whose stories have never been written down. A phone call reaches all of them. A good conversation is how people have always shared their lives.

So Ello listens. It calls, it talks, it remembers, and over time it understands: who matters to someone, where their life happens, what they are going through, and when something changes.

Where it started.

Ello began with families. Anouk, our app for families, calls parents and grandparents every week and keeps their stories. Building it meant solving the hard problems first: natural conversation in many languages, memory that lasts from one call to the next, structure from speech, and noticing change over time.

That engine now powers a family of products for health, insurance, cities, memory and research.

Inside the Ello Engine

What we believe.

Every life is worth understanding.

Not only the lives that generate data, but every grandmother, patient and witness.

Conversation beats questionnaires.

People share far more with someone who listens than with a form.

Change matters more than averages.

What counts is how a person differs from their own usual.

Technology should hand over to people.

Ello notices. People decide and act.

  • Consent first

People choose to take part, can stop at any time, and always know who is calling them and why.

  • A person decides

Ello notices and reports. A doctor, a social worker or a family member decides what to do.

  • Never a diagnosis

Ello records what people say and how it changes. It does not diagnose and makes no clinical prediction.

  • Each person against themselves

Change is measured against each person’s own usual, never against a population average.

Every life, understood.
